Regent Porto Montenegro
The 5-star Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel has been constantly on our list of the ‘Top 5 hotels and resorts in Montenegro‘ for the last few years. And it is easy to see why. Located just a stone’s throw away from the Porto Montenegro super yacht marina and designed in a Neo-Venetian style, it almost has no competition in this part of Europe.
The Location
The Regent Hotel finds itself in the Porto Montenegro Village which is a district within the coastal town of Tivat. Tivat is nestled between Mount Vrmac and the mouth of the UNESCO-protected Boka Bay.
The luxury marina is most acclaimed for its capacity to always have some of the world’s biggest yachts moored at one of its 450 berths. Porto Montenegro can accommodate yachts up to 250 meters in length.
The marina village harbors countless fine dining and luxury shopping venues that are all within footwalk distance from the Regent.
The Hotel
Increased demand for upscale accommodation under the Regent Brand has led to an extension of hotel facilities. The new Regent Hotel annex has a vast and luxurious outdoor pool landscape at its epicenter – the Regent Pool Club.
The pool club is made up of 4 pools in total. The centerpiece is represented by the tiered infinity pool with fabulous views of the adjacent yacht marina. The pool deck area is pristine and remarkably clean. The sun loungers are partly in the sun and partly placed under the natural shade of palm trees.
This main pool landscape is the ideal place to take life slowly and relax. Close your eyes and you will hear little else than the calming splash of the surrounding fountains. Refresh yourself at the pool bar that serves delectable snacks and cocktails.
If you need some physical water activity, you can jump into the heated lap pool. It measures 25 meters and is even heated during winter time. Children have their little oasis on the upper floors- two shallow and safe splash pools.
The Rooms & Suites
The Regent Porto Montenegro offers 175 nautical-themed rooms & suites. The one-to-three-bedroom suites are located in the newly-built Aqua, Baia, and Venezia wings of the hotel (yellow building). The Aqua and Baia residences have been added recently, which is why their room amenities are more up-to-date.
The rooms in the Venezia wing have a more classic design and are more spacious. All residences are equipped with a magnificently comfortable king-sized bed.
Classic Room
The classic room category is sufficient if you are visiting as a couple or solo. The rooms measure between 24 and 35 square meters. You won’t get the benefit of a sea view under this category.
Premium Room
The premium rooms are more spacious:
- Baia: 35 m2
- Aqua: 28 – 34 m2
- Venezia: 40 – 42 m2
The Premium Venezia rooms come with a deep soaking bathtub and a separate walk-in shower. The Baia and Aqua for the most part have a walk-in shower only.
Considering the same price level for all three room types, the Venezia is the most comfortable choice. The only downside is that its room design and the amenities are a bit dated but we think that is not a deal breaker. The design is by the much-acclaimed Italian designer Tino Zervudachi.

King Studio
The King Studio category gives you on average 20 square meters more space. The studios come in at 63 to 69 m2 of floor space. As with the premium rooms, the studios in the Venezia wing are a little more spacious.
But we think that the Baia and Aqua studios are more cleverly designed in how they separate the sleeping from the living room area. They also feature a convertible sofa and a fully equipped kitchen.

The suites
The Regent suites can accommodate from 2 to 6 persons comfortably. The 1-bedroom suite extends over an area of 78 to 115 square meters; the 2-bedroom suite houses four persons on a surface of 112 to 126 m2. The 3-bedroom suite is by far the most spacious and stretches over 160 to 185 square meters.
1-Bedroom Suite
We like the 94 sqm one-bedroom suite themed in the Baia style. The soft green color scheme in the bedroom harmonizes great with the wooden elements and the hardwood flooring.
The suite features living, dining, and kitchen areas. Even a fireplace where you can relax on colder days. The views of the marina are superb in all seasons. The balcony is furnished with very comfortable fittings.

2-Bedroom Suite
The 2-bedroom suites in the Aqua wing of the Regent Hotel are between 112 and 114 m2 in size and include two King Bedrooms. living, dining, and kitchen areas are commodious enough for 4 persons. Walk In Shower and Deep Soaking Tub

3-Bedroom Suite
The classy and stately 3-bedroom suite in Venezia style is roomy and measures between 160 and 185 square meters. It is designed to reflect a maritime theme with subtle rope and linen canopy accents throughout the suite. The color palette changes from calming shades of blue to beige and contrasts elegantly with the red-colored wood.
The spacious bathrooms come with their en-suite bathroom that includes a walk-in shower and/or a deep soaking tub. Free toiletries and bathrobes are provided. And many other small details that will make your stay more convenient.
Sea view costs 200€ (100€ in low season) per night extra which is worth it considering the marvelous panoramic view from one of the outdoor terraces.

Regent Porto Montenegro Spa
The excellent Regent Spa measures a whopping 1,500 sqm and is centered around its beautifully-designed indoor pool. The indoor pool area is very popular with guests and it would be advisable to book your lounger one day in advance.
Apart from this relaxing indoor oasis, the Spa features a Jacuzzi Hot Tub, outdoor pools, a Finnish sauna, and a Turkish bath. If you want to stay active during your stay, the Spa welcomes you with a modern fitness center with experience showers and a relaxation room. There is also a nail salon.
The wellness center is probably the most sophisticated in the Boka Bay area. You can expect professional and comprehensive wellness offerings in five individual treatment rooms. Here is an overview of some of the available treatment plans:

Bars & Restaurants
As a guest in this beautiful hotel, you can choose among the signature restaurant (Murano) for casual fine dining, the Gourmet Corner for Patisserie & Delicatessen, the Pool Bar for light poolside snacks, and the Onyx Bar for cocktails and accompanying sushi.
Murano Restaurant
While focusing on fresh seafood prepared with locally sourced ingredients, the Murano also has a diverse set of enticing meat and vegetarian dishes on their menu. If you are staying in the Regent Hotel, the Murano is also the place where you get your daily breakfast served.
Having said that, the quality of the breakfast is superb. Expect to enjoy truffle scrambled eggs, egg benedict with salmon, and a rich variety of fresh juices. You can serve yourself from the buffet and order from the extensive a la carte menu.
If you are visiting for dinner, make sure to take the Burrato or the scallops as an appetizer if available. Some great choices for the main course are the tuna steak or the dug leg confit. The tuna burger is surprisingly good as well; it comes with wasabi mayonnaise and fresh avocado producing a delicately balanced flavor.
Dessert recommendation: Panna cotta with wild berries
The Gourmet Corner
The French-inspired pastry shop and restaurant are ideal for a cup of coffee, macarons, and a piece of buttery French patisserie. The shaded outdoor seating area is also enticing for grabbing an afternoon cocktail – or two.
The Gourmet Corner also has a rich selection of savory dishes on their menu including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Their vegetarian Lasagna and the Sea Bream fillet are delicious.
The Regent Pool Bar
Even at the idle Regent Pool Bar, you won’t be disappointed by their well-thought-out menu. The menu entails mostly light and healthy snacks but you can also order Filet Mignon or a Hamburger.
Don’t expect the same attention to detail as you would find in the Murano restaurant but the Pool Bar does the job should you get hungry while being on the pool deck. The grilled octopus goes well with an ice-cold local beer. The Regent Burger and Tuna Burger are fantastic as well.
Onyx Bar & Garden by Beluga
Looking for a trendy and luxurious refuge for a quick pre- or after-dinner cocktail? The Onyx Bar and Garden is a Regent and the noble Beluga Vodka Company partnership. The green-colored onyx countertop looks inviting enough to try some of the vodka-based signature cocktails.
The cocktail and beverage menu is accompanied by a small selection of light bites and delicious dishes.
